Permian frac sand supplier, Vista Proppants and Logistics, added a large independent producer to its client list and commenced operation of a transloading in facility in western Texas.
Designed to expedite shipment of frac sand via railcars from its mine at Monahans to customers across the Midland and Delaware Basins, the transload operation is expected to reduce congestion from truck traffic, improve truck turn-around times and help slow growing transportation costs, declared Gary Humphreys, CEO at Vista.
“Through development of a transload terminal located very close to our West Texas mine, we can deliver sand via railcar in multiple directions to key markets in the Permian,” Humphreys said.
Based in Fort Worth, Vista supplies frac sand to well completion projects in the Permian, Eagle Ford and SCOOP/STACK plays.
In January, Vista announced it reached a long-term supply agreement with Chesapeake Energy to supply high crush strength, 100- mesh frac sand from the Vista mine at Cresson, Texas.
Shipments to Chesapeake operations in the Eagle Ford will originate at the Vista transload facility at Dilley, Texas.
